3" Lifted XJ

ROUGH COUNTRY 3" LIFT

Cost: $500

Cause: Stock XJ....No way.

Basics: Well, after looking around, I decided on a rough country 3" lift. Not a bad lift. The first four pictures are before the install. Notice the rear leaf springs. They are flat. That really sucked.

Ok, now to the install. It went ok, took 2 days to complete. I did the rear first. And of course the forward bolts for the leafs snapped in two, leaving me to torch the leaf springs off. And then trying to get the busted bolt off.

Finally all the old stuff was off. about 8 hours later. And the new ones went on without a hitch.

Next day, I put on the front, man this was so much easier. only took about 4 hours total. Everything lined up perfect.

Pros: Great Looks, Better Off-Road Performance, Able to install larger tires.

Cons: Cost, Pain in the ass to install rear spring packs (not typical)

Note: Should have just went with the 4.5" Lift to start.
