Cooling System Fix

Cost: $50 or so

Cause: Unreliable Closed Cooling System found on older XJ's, Plastic tank always started leaking after a few months.

Basics:   New Stuff

1 New Upper Radiator Hose (Stock)

1 - 6 Ft 5/8 Heater Hose

1 - 6 Ft 3/4 Heater Hose

1 - 2 Ft 3/8 Overflow Hose

1 - Filler neck from Jeg's

1 - 18 lb Radiator cap

1 - Overflow bottle from Jeg's

And various hose clamps

I just removed everything from the old system. and then Made my upper hose as seen in the second picture. Then ran new heater hoses directly to the heater core.  Added a simple Overflow bottle and that's it. done.

This is the same thing done by many other jeepers out there out there on the internet.

Pros: More reliable radiator cap, More reliable cooling and some better.

Cons: Removal of all stock parts, wasn't a dramatic difference in cooling.
