Skyjacker Dropped Pitman Arm

Cause: With 4.5" Lift and Rustys Tie Rod Conversion couldn't center wheel. Wanted to elevate bump steer in suspension.

Basics: Ok, with my Rustys Tie Rob Conversion installed months before. I learned that it was really only good up to about a 3" lift kit on my XJ. Anything more I could not center up my steering wheel. The drag link was just not long enough without getting really loose on the rod ends. So I went out and bought a Skyjacker Dropped Pitman Arm. At a cost of about $180, it sure wasn't cheap.

 Now, getting the old one off was a job. After breaking 3 Pitman Arm pullers, I finally Got one more puller and a cutting torch. As you can see in the last picture, I just nibbled the edge off the old one until it was loose enough and popped off. Overall, I love it. with my 4.5" lift I can center up my wheel. And less bump steer too. But was it worth $180 bucks... well, maybe...

Pros: Less Bump steer, Better Steering Geometry, Alot stronger Pitman arm.

Cons: Cost
