Ok, it seems there are still some folks out there who can't
install the light kits. I will try to list a few things to
make sure you do to get the kits installed.
1.
Remember :
Kits are car specific. If you download the complete kit.
unzip it to your desktop. Then open the unzipped folders and
look inside. You will see the different folders for each
car. And in each folder you will see all the different
colors for that particular car.
2. Now, here is a example of how I install one color for one
car. I was to choose the Baiern Car. Now, I download the
Street glow kit. Unzip it into a New Folder on my desktop.
Then, I open the new folder, find the Baiern folder, Open
that folder, then choose which color I want.
Once I have done that, I will unzip that individual color
for that specific car into the Script folder in my
Baiern_data folder. The exact location for this folder is :
C:\Program Files\Activision Value\Street Legal
Racing\cars\racers\Baiern_data\scripts
Now, remember that is just for the Baiern Car. The directory
will change with the other cars.
Option :
You can unzip the color kit for a car to your desktop. Then
copy and paste those files into the script folder listed
above for the Baiern car.
Option :
It may be necessary to delete the script files that the neon
light kit are replacing, before you copy and paste them in
the script folder. Or before you unzip it to that folder.
just explore the zip file and find out which script files
are in the color kit.
Example : ok,
the Baiern kits replace the F_bumper, F_bumper_2,
F_bumper_3, L_sideskirt, L_sideskirt_2, R_bumper,
R_bumper_2, R_sideskirt and R_sideskirt_2 files in the
Baiern_data/Scripts folder. So go into that folder, delete
these files, then unzip and install the light kit into this
folder. all the files will be replaced with my new ones
which have the neon's attached.
Remember :
You can only see the kits at night time. I scripted them to
only come on at night, and the car has to be running.
Remember :
You must have the specific part installed to have that neon
light. i.e.....the left Neon is attached to the Left Side
skirt. If the side skirt is not installed there won't be a
light on the left side.
Ok, other than all that, there shouldn't be any reason why
they don't work. Unless your graphics card is not up to par,
it may not render the lights well. I don't think is any
setting in the game that would make the lights not work.
